Welcome to our surgery website. With this website we aim to provide you with all of the information you need with just a the click of a button. You can find lots of useful information like when we’re open and what to do when we’re not, all from the comfort of your own home.

 We are a small, friendly practice in Rainworth, serving just fewer than 3000 patients. We are part of Newark & Sherwood Clinical Commissioning Group. The practice was runners up in the Local Medical Committee Medium practice of the Year 2013 and runners up in the Small practice of the year 2011 (It didn’t run in 2012!

Please be advised we no longer prescribe items for minor illness, that you can buy or obtain from your local pharmacy. If you think you need an appointment for a minor illness we are asking you visit your local chemist for advice and possibly treatment either through buying medicines or obtaining them under the Pharmacy First scheme.


 Please note we will be closed on Monday 29th May 2017 due to bank holiday. We will re-open on Tuesday 30th May 2017 as normal.

In April 45 patients Did Not Attend their appointments. In total this adds up too 575 minutes of wasted time. If you cannot attend an appointment please contact the surgery at your earliest convenience.


The Chad has revealed a list of Mansfield and Ashfield’s best and worst GP surgeries, based on ratings provided by patients on how likely they are to recommend their practice.

 Hill View Surgery, was voted 3rd best practice at - 91.5%

  You can now download a free SystmOnline App for your iPhone, iPad or Android phone/tablet.


To register for SystmOnline you will need to come in surgery and ask at reception for your SystemOnline username and password. All you will need is one form of identification; this can be a driving licence a passport or any other form of photo identification. We will then give you your username and a temporary password that can be changed to something more memorable after you have logged on. To get onto the website, click on the "SystmOnline" logo above and you will be redirected to the SystemOnline website. On this website you can book and cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions and change your personal details, like your phone number.


 Electronic Prescribing
You can now have your prescriptions sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. This will eliminate you having to come into the surgery to collect your prescription and will reduce your waiting time. Although there are certain medications that cannot go electronically. Feel free to ask at reception for more information about these medications. To nominate your chosen pharmacy, ask in the pharmacy or here in the surgery.


 SMS Text Messages Reminders
We now send out appointment reminders to our patients via text messages. If you have your mobile number recorded on your record we will now send you confirmation of your appointment booking and a reminder for your appointment the day before.
If you DO NOT wish to receive this text message please contact the surgery.
